MD Logistics, a third-party logistics (3PL) firm and Nippon Express Group company, has now opened its first warehouse in Garner, NC. This facility features 240,000 square feet of current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) certified, pharmaceutical grade space, and will feature both 2-8°C (36-46°F) and 15-25°C (59-77°F) storage environments.

It was previously announced in June 2022 that MD Logistics was expanding to North Carolina in order to extend current client partnerships and more effectively reach the life sciences and pharma industry on the East Coast. This new plant is located within the town of Garner, a southern suburb of Raleigh, NC. The decision to open this facility within Garner was due in part to its proximity within the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of North Carolina, known as a high technology research and science park.

This facility will primarily serve as manufacturing support to various life science and pharmaceutical companies in the southeast US. In a joint collaboration, come 2024, Nippon Express and MD Logistics also intend to add electric vehicle (EV) transportation solutions to the local market as well, in support of their collective sustainability initiatives.
