Deloitte’s ConvergeHealth adds more IT capabilities for patient support

Article

Electronic signatures, a call-center telephony system and secure fax technology are being provided

ConvergeHealth, announced by Deloitte a couple of years ago as a service to consolidate and expedite the gathering of healthcare data by pharma companies (or their hub service providers) and healthcare providers themselves, is expanding its IT capabilities. Now, in addition to such ConvergeHealth platforms as Miner (for analytics) or Patient Connect, for patient interaction, clients can incorporate electronic signature technology from DocuSign; computer telephony integration (CTI) from Five9, and document automation (including faxes) from zPaper. These solutions, as well as parts of the ConvergeHealth platforms, make use of SalesForce.com cloud-based information management.

Chris Zant, a principal at Deloitte and a manager of ConvergeHealth, notes that its clients might have, for example, a CTI solution already in place, and ConvergeHealth solutions can be integrated with existing technology; the three new services arrive with integration resources already in place. All these services, as well as the ConvergeHealth platforms themselves, are designed to be HIPAA-compliant where protected health information is concerned.

The goal of integrating diverse data sets involving patient care is a central one to hub service providers, who consolidate patient access issues (such as prior authorization) with specialty pharmacy dispensing data and, where possible, outcomes data. The same is true for providers, generally coming from the perspective of integrating diagnostic and outcomes data with the electronic health records of their patients. Zant says that ConvergeHeatlh’s current base of clients includes both, as well as pharma companies themselves.
