Infosys/Lodestone upgrade integrates with SAP systems for managing closer collaborations with trial partners

Infosys (Bangalore, India) used the Sapphire NOW meeting (Orlando, FL; June 3-05), SAP’s North American partnering event, to introduce a cloud-based clinical-trial supply management (CTSM) solution, upgrading an on-premise version that had existed with Lodestone Holding AG (Infosys acquired Lodestone in 2012). The solution manages demand and supply planning as well as distribution across clinical sites. Features of the new system include:

  • a pay-per-use basis that reduces expensive infrastructure requirements for the highly volative clinical trials process
  • real-time data entry via mobility-enabled transactions
  • integration of SAP’s user interface (version 5) for ease of use for customers already familiar with SAP ERP systems.

Infosys claims user benefits of reducing clinical trial cycles by 10-15%, reducing inventory overages by 30-40% and reducing running costs by 30-40%. The solution is especially tailored for mid-market pharma companies and contract research organizations (CROs).
