New Valdosta, GA, facility is targeted at independent pharmacies in the Southeast
Smith Drug Co. (Spartanburg, SC) opened its Valdosta facility in May, representing a capital investment of $15 million, according to the company. The facility has a 109,000-sq-ft footprint, will employ up to 40, and is said to employ the latest distribution and software technologies.
“Our business is about serving independent pharmacies in the Southeastern region. With the additional distribution center in Valdosta, we will be able to specifically support those pharmacies in the Georgia and growth-oriented Florida market,” says Ken Couch, president.
Smith Drug’s other distribution centers are in Paragould, AR, and Spartanburg. PC
