Join forces on tamper-evident security for luer-lock syringes
Schreiner MediPharm, a German specialty label developer, and Plas-Tech Engineering, which offers pre-fillable polymer syringes, have entered into a partnership for Cap-Lock, a first-opening indication for prefilled syringes.
Joining forces on Cap-Lock.
The label designer originally debuted the Cap-Lock cap adapter in the fall of 2019, and less than a year later, introduced a product featuring a label-integrated inlay for automated supply chain management and digital first-opening indication. This development partnership between the parties, executives say, enhances industrial manufacturing of the cap adapter, providing pharma manufacturers with a full-service solution for equipping luer-lock syringes with tamper evidence.
Cap-Lock is a security concept for prefilled syringes developed by Schreiner MediPharm combining a cap adapter (which will be developed and produced by Plas-Tech Engineering) and label. The technology specifies whether a syringe has been previously opened, ensuring the integrity of the primary container and preventing its undetected opening.
Schreiner MediPharm’s US facility is located in Blauvelt, NY.
