Megatrends for healthcare supply-chain management

Breaking with a years-long tradition, the Fall Conference of the Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference, Inc. will be held in Chicago this year, Oct. 12-14, rather than its usual fall location in Florida. Conference organizers, who are primarily industry volunteers, are hoping to broaden the organization’s membership and participation with the changed venue.

This year’s focus is “Major Themes Impacting the Strategy and Practice of Healthcare products supply-chain management.” Presentations include visibility and the effect of information control towers; logistics challenges in an M&A environment; a panel discussion on GDP standards and regulations; and passive thermal protection in a global distribution context; among others. A representative of Eli Lilly will give an overview of Lilly’s supply chain systems. A review of the Washington regulatory and legislative scene is a regular feature of the meeting, as well as supporting resources from the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration and the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business.

HPCLC, which has been serving the health and personal-care industries for over 80 years, brings supply chain execs together with key vendors. More information is available at www.hpclcnet.org.
