CalAmp smart tracking tool can collect environmental data on assets in temperatures as low as -20ºC

CalAmp, a connected intelligence company, unveiled its new SC1302 single-use smart tracking device that can monitor temperatures as low as -20ºC (-4ºF), offering visibility for the transport of Covid-19 vaccines and other pharmaceuticals. The tool is among the various smart tracking devices that are being released to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

First shipments of the environmental sensor are anticipated in the first half of this year. The product works hand-in-hand with CalAmp's SC iOn supply chain visibility software to help provide real-time, end-to-end monitoring of shipments through a web interface.

Using the solution, third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and private fleet operators can keep track of environmental conditions of various cargoes, from the moment they leave the manufacturer. Technical users can integrate the sensor data into their own software tools via industry standard application program interfaces (APIs) and manage the device, all through the CalAmp Telematic Cloud platform.
