Clinical trial managers: take a survey of issues in clinical trial supplies


Logistics and service provider performance are among the topics

Sonoco ThermoSafe is sponsoring a survey aimed at clinical trial managers to assess the current and future state of services and technology for managing clinical trial supplies. And although the company is a leading provider of tertiary packaging for shipping temperature-controlled life sciences products, this is not a subtle pitch for its services; the company worked with a handful of pharma companes, plus courier service providers and contract packagers, to develop the survey.

With the steady growth in clinical trial operations—and the need for temperature-controlled delivery of biotech products and tissue samples growing in clinical trials—the survey goals are timely. There has been considerable evolution in the past five years or so in both the technology for delivering temperature-controlled products, and the types of delivery services being offered. “Investments in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries are only increasing,” says Vishal Khushalani, director of global marketing and business development, “and we hope insights gathered from this global survey help companies baseline their current strategies in logistics, supply chain and technology to guide future investments.”

Respondents can click on this link to take the survey, which Sonoco ThermoSafe says should only take 15 minutes. It will be open until October 31st; results will be published in 2017.
