Global logistics provider AIT Worldwide garners GDP certification

AIT Worldwide Logistics has gone to SGS, a global certification agency, to get certified in Good Distribution Practices (GDPs) for life sciences. AIT says it is replicating the GDP-certification lessons at its other locations.

“In an increasingly complex industry, GDP certification elevates our global offering,” said AIT Life Sciences sales director, William Freidel. “It not only affirms our commitment as a premium pharmaceuticals and life sciences logistics provider, it underlines our dedication to security and quality across the board.” The company notes that while GDP certification is not a global requirement, EU pharmaceutical companies and their logistics partners must comply with GDP regulations. Many US companies are also coming into compliance.

AIT has offices in 60 locations globally, and has been on a growth spurt recently, having acquired Unitrans, a Europe- and Asia-based forwarder, just last month, along with a pair of other significant acquisitions last year.
