Moderna has appointed James Mock as its CFO, effective Sept. 6. He will serve on the company’s executive committee and report to CEO Stéphane Bancel. Before joining Moderna, Mock served as SVP and CFO of PerkinElmer, Inc. since May 2018. Following the appointment of Mock, David Meline will retire as Moderna’s CFO, effective the same date, but will remain as a consultant to the company to assist with the transition.

After more than 35 years at Eli Lilly and Company, Stephen Fry, SVP, human resources and diversity, will retire at the end of the year. Eric Dozier, currently VP and chief commercial officer for Loxo@Lilly, is being promoted to succeed Fry as SVP, human resources and diversity. Dozier will report to David A. Ricks—Lilly chair and CEO—and will join Lilly's executive committee upon Fry's retirement.

Rentschler Biopharma, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for biopharmaceuticals, has appointed Mark Caswell as vice president, site head. He joined in July 2022 and is managing all operations at the company’s US facilities in Milford, MA, including the completion of the new state-of-the-art Rentschler Biopharma Manufacturing Center (RBMC) adjacent to the existing site. Caswell also has more than 25 years of experience in the biopharma industry.

Inizio, a partner for health and life sciences that offers various advisory, medical, marketing, communications, and patient and stakeholder engagement services, has appointed two hires. Mary-Kate McGarry transitions to VP for corporate and global strategy from her role as VP of strategy and key initiatives for Inizio Advisory, a position she has held since joining the company over a year ago with more than 15 years of management consulting experience. She will oversee strategy at Inizio and its five specialist business units, Advisory, Medical, MarComms, Engage and Biotech. Lori Hawthorne has been appointed as the new global head of talent acquisition. She joins Inizio from communications giant, WPP, where she oversaw corporate and client recruitment, as well as enterprise-wide operations across the firm’s network of 300 agencies and over 100,000 employees. In her new role, Hawthorne will head up recruitment across Inizio’s business units, developing strategies to find the best and brightest talent at all levels. She will work closely with local recruitment leads and report to Inizio chief talent officer, Helen Apostolidis.

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its life sciences, biopharma, and medical technology (MedTech) offerings with the appointment of Steve Moscoe as a managing director in its healthcare industry group. He brings more than 30 years of life sciences industry and consulting experience to A&M. Moscoe helps pharma and biotech organizations solve manufacturing, network development, supply chain, and other operations and finance process challenges.

Curia, a CDMO formerly known as Albany Molecular Research Inc.(AMRI), has appointed Niall Condon as president of its manufacturing division, effective immediately. Condon will drive growth and be responsible for operational delivery of Curia’s commercial manufacturing services and products, including active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and drug product. He will also serve as a member of Curia’s executive committee. Condon succeeds Curia’s retiring president of manufacturing, Steve Lichter.

Cardinal Health, a pharmaceutical distributor and third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has elected Jason Hollar as the company's next CEO, effective Sept. 1. He has officially joined the Board of Directors, and will succeed current CEO, Mike Kaufmann. Hollar has served as Cardinal Health's CFO since May 2020, leading financial activities across the enterprise, including financial strategy, capital deployment, treasury, tax, investor relations, risk management, accounting and reporting. In addition, Patricia English will serve as Cardinal Health's interim CFO, working with Hollar to ensure a smooth transition. English currently serves as chief accounting officer and SVP of Cardinal Health, and previously served as VP of accounting in both the pharma and medical segments.

Stratevi LLC, a boutique health economics, outcomes research, and market access consulting firm, has appointed Daniele Severi Bruni to the newly created role of chief access officer. He will focus on expanding the firm’s capabilities and service offerings in strategic pricing and market access, report to Josh Epstein, PhD, CEO.

Elemica, a digital supply chain network for the global manufacturing sector,has named Arun Samuga its chief innovation officer. He has been with the company for 13 years, the past four as chief technology officer. In this new role, Samuga will focus on, among various tasks, exploring new ideas and driving innovation in the areas of advanced integration and connectivity technologies, as well as end-to-end supply chain visibility solutions.

Marc Sawaya has been appointed CEO of Bolloré Logistics USA, an organization that offers complete end-to-end supply chain solutions to clients in various industries, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He will report directly to Yves Laforgue, CEO of Bolloré Logistics for the Americas.

Pleio, Inc., who provides healthcare technology and medication support programs, has announced the appointment of Mark Gregory to the newly created position of chief pharmacy officer. He brings more than three decades of experience in pharmacy and healthcare to the role.
