Proposed FDA Rule Could Limit Pharmacy Compounding

On March 20, 2024, the FDA proposed a new rule that would create criteria for certain drug products or categories that present “Demonstrable Difficulties for Compounding Lists”—known as DDC lists. The proposed rule is entitled “Drug Products or Categories of Drug Products That Present Demonstrable Difficulties for Compounding Under Sections 503A or 503B of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.”
