Welcome to Pharma Pulse, a Pharmaceutical Commerce podcast in which we bring you the latest insights shaping patient access and healthcare innovation. I'm your host, and let's get into today's headlines.
- First, the FDA’s Office of Prescription Drug Promotion issued a warning letter to ImmunityBio for misleading advertisements regarding its cancer therapy, Anktiva. Regulators found that promotional materials
overstated the drug's efficacy —implying it could cure cancer or prevent recurrence—while misrepresenting its administration as a subcutaneous injection rather than its approved intravesical-only route. Following the regulatory action, ImmunityBio shares fell 26%. - Next, MedImpact has launched GLP-1 Benefit 360 and GLP-1 Direct Fund to address a
surge in employer per-member-per-month costs for weight management therapies. These models aim to provide predictable pricing and integrated clinical support, including access to registered dietitians, to combat high discontinuation rates and prevent metabolic rebound.
