Acquisition expected to help provide customers with a quicker clinical trial recruitment process

Syneos Health, a biopharma clinical and commercial solutions organization, has acquired StudyKIK, a clinical trial recruitment and retention company. Speeding up product development by connecting patients, sites and communities, Syneos Health officials say that the acquisition furthers the company’s capacity to provide technology-enabled, insight-powered solutions. Customer benefits include accelerated patient enrollment and retention, patient population-based insights, reduced patient burden and more.

Launched as a network of patient-focused communities, StudyKIK and its technology platform have exhibited improved quality and accelerated enrollment timelines in certain clinical trials by up to 94% and reduced enrollment start-up times by up to 75%. Furthermore, StudyKIK adds new scale and capabilities to develop the patient journey while optimizing data science and behavioral insights to support commercialization for products. It also offers eConsent, telemedicine video calling, phone pre-qualifications and patient retention application solutions. The company manages over 1,000 indication-specific patient community groups and has enrolled more than 5,400 protocols, supporting over 3,800 research sites around the world.

This acquisition further expands Syneos Health’s portfolio of patient-direct, technology-enabled solutions, supplementing the acquisition of Illingworth Research Group, a provider of mobile research nursing services, and the company’s various technology partnerships, featuring several firms such as Medable, a cloud platform for patient-centered drug development.
