Cold Chain Technologies (CCT), is solidifying its commitment to growing its Asia-Pacific (APAC) presence by continuing to seek out new investment and partnership opportunities across the region.1

Building on APAC acquisitions and partnerships

These new initiatives aim to combine CCT’s global expertise with its local resources in order to strengthen support for pharmaceutical, airline, and third-party logistics (3PL) clients in managing temperature-controlled logistics.

“Following the acquisition of Tower Cold Chain and GCCS—both of which had a strong presence and reputation in APAC—we are building new partnerships and networks to ensure customers globally can access our range of passive parcel and pallet shippers quickly and effectively,” said Ranjeet Banerjee, CEO of Cold Chain Technologies.

In Japan for instance, CCT opened a new hub in Tokyo, while appointing Hubnet as its distributor, which is taking on the company’s reusable pallet line. Meanwhile, in China, thanks to the connection that Tower had established with distributor TWS, the parties are further expanding that relationship, as TWS will be in charge of the full CCT portfolio in that country.

Expansion into India and Australia

In Australia and India respectively, Cold Chain Technologies is in the process of rebranding its regional operations as CCT Australia and CCT India respectively, expanding upon the momentum that GCCS created. India is welcoming a new manufacturing plant in Mumbai, along with and portfolio that will be promoted at showcasing at ‘a major industry conference and exhibition next month.

“We’re leveraging the strength of our global portfolio—pallets, parcels, thermal covers, and digital solutions—together with strong regional capabilities across APAC. We encourage those interested to register their interest,” commented Amardeep Chahal, CCT’s SVP of marketing and corporate development. “Our investment in the region will continue, as we aim to support our customers to link their life-changing activity around the world with reliable, high-quality logistics.”

Fast Facts

  • CCT recently opened a new hub in Tokyo, appointing Hubnet as distributor for its reusable pallet line.
  • In China, distributor TWS will now manage the full CCT portfolio, expanding a relationship first established by Tower Cold Chain.
  • India is welcoming a new CCT manufacturing plant in Mumbai, part of the company’s regional rebrand as CCT India.

Partnership with E&I Cooperative Services

In other CCT news, the company also recently formed a partnership2 with E&I Cooperative Services—a sourcing cooperative that serve the education industry—to provide colleges, universities, K-12 schools, and research laboratories with expedited access to CCT’s cold chain packaging solutions.

The agreement allows the over 6,000 member institutions to avoid the traditional, time-intensive request-for-proposal (RFP) process, which can often postpone procurement by several months. By simplifying access, these educational and research institutions can more efficiently obtain the needed temperature-controlled packaging medical and nursing training, scientific laboratory work, and health sciences initiatives.

Essentially, CCT is offering its core cold chain solutions—such as the Rx Series, Rx Naturals line, and Advanced SU Conditioned systems—through E&I’s cooperative contract portfolio, including:

  • The Rx Series, which provides durable, adaptable temperature control for last-mile delivery
  • The Rx Naturals line that complies with Old Corrugated Containers-Environmental standards, making the packaging fully recyclable and repulpable

The Advanced SU Conditioned systems also are able to leverage vacuum-insulated panels and phase-change materials to help provide consistent temperatures across air and ground transport for both domestic and international shipments.2

“CCT’s extensive portfolio of high-performance cold chain containers is already widely trusted across life sciences and pharmaceutical industries,” noted Jim Goebel Sr., CCT’s business development manager, at the time of the announcement. “Through our partnership with E&I, we’re looking forward to bringing that same level of performance to the education sector. This collaboration not only gives E&I’s members efficient access to industry-leading cold chain solutions but also allows us to expand into a growing sector where temperature control is increasingly critical.”
