H.D. Smith reorganizes national operations to accommodate growth
Industry veteran Harvey Tannenbaum retires
To “meet unique regional needs of its customers,” H.D. Smith (Springfield, IL) is organizing into two regions, East and West, with VPs Christian Herrington overseeing the former and Tom Twitty handling the latter. Both report to Chris Smith, president and COO.
At the same time, the company has announced the retirement of Harvey Tannenbaum, most recently head of business development and strategic planning, following a 45-year career in pharmacy and pharma distribution. "As a pharmacist who built up his own small chain in the New York metropolitan area, he went on to build our New York Metro Division for H.D. Smith from its inception. Harvey leaves an indelible mark on H.D. Smith culture,” said Smith.
H.D. Smith, one of the largest privately-held healthcare distributors in the US, operates eight distribution centers across the country.
