Intends to provide fill-and-finish services for up to 200 million doses
Sanofi will help manufacture Moderna's Covid-19 jab by providing fill-and-finish services of up to 200 million doses at its Ridgefield, NJ, location. Production is scheduled to start in September.
The latest announcement is the third regarding Sanofi’s commitment to offering manufacturing support for Covid vaccines. Earlier this year, the big pharma revealed that it would provide support to BioNTech for 125 million doses for the EU. In February, Sanofi announced that one of its manufacturing sites in France would support Johnson & Johnson for the production of its Covid-19 vaccine at a rate of about 12 million doses per month.
And in a more long-term development, the company also recently invested $476 million to create a vaccine production center in Singapore.
