Development of additional 29,000 square feet addresses med tech company’s internal production capabilities

Siemens Healthineers, an instrument, reagent and consumable manufacturer across various laboratory diagnostic items, has chosen Newark, DE, as not only the location for a planned expansion, but an increase in internal production services as well.

The company plans to grow its current location in Building 100 of Glasgow Business Community by 29,000 square feet to add more capacity to manufacture up to 20 new in vitro diagnostic assays, along with associated calibrator products. Siemens Healthineers will also add new production equipment, featuring large-scale specialties and formulation process equipment; it plans to invest more than $32 million into the project.

“The delivery of healthcare is evolving all over the world, including here in the United States. Expanding our operations in Delaware will allow us to better serve our customers and ultimately the patients they serve,” said Deepak Nath, PhD, president of laboratory diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers.
