Pharma Pulse: Infinitus' AI Hub Play, EVERSANA's Cell Therapy Partnership, Cold Chain Deals

In this week's Pharma Pulse, Infinitus launches an AI-first hub model, EVERSANA is tapped to commercialize Innovacell's regenerative cell therapy in the US, Peli BioThermal and PAXAFE pair packaging with predictive cold chain intelligence, and Ember LifeSciences strikes a distribution alliance with Japan's top pharma wholesaler.

Welcome to Pharma Pulse, a Pharmaceutical Commerce podcast bringing you the latest insights shaping patient access, regulatory policy, and healthcare innovation. I'm your host, and let's get into today's headlines.

First up, Infinitus launched an AI-first, human-backed hub solution built to replace the industry's legacy call-center infrastructure for specialty pharmacy patient support.1 The model splits the work by type. AI agents absorb routine volume like enrollment, benefit verification and status updates around the clock, while human case managers engage where judgment or empathy is needed, like exceptions, escalations and clinical conversations. Infinitus says the approach can cut administrative costs by up to 30%, and during a recent annual re-verification cycle, the company says it absorbed a 144% patient volume surge without hiring a single additional full-time employee.

Ankit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Infinitus, tied the launch to a persistent access problem, noting that up to 40% of patients prescribed specialty therapies drop off before ever starting treatment.1 A major pharmaceutical manufacturer's patient support program has already signed on to run its end-to-end patient journey through the new model, a sign that hub operators are under real pressure to modernize before more patients fall through the cracks.

Next, EVERSANA has been named the exclusive US commercialization partner for a Tokyo biotech's regenerative cell therapy.

EVERSANA announced it will support Innovacell Inc. as the company advances ICEF15, a regenerative cell therapy targeting urgent fecal incontinence, toward the US market.2 ICEF15 is currently in the multi-regional Fidelia Study, a Phase III trial spanning the United States, 11 European countries and Japan.

EVERSANA will provide its full commercialization platform, covering pre-launch strategy, market access, patient engagement, data analytics, agency services, field deployment and distribution. The partnership marks a key step in building US commercial infrastructure ahead of an anticipated launch.

In other news, two cold chain announcements this week point to the same trend: packaging and intelligence are merging into a single offering.

Peli BioThermal and PAXAFE announced a strategic partnership pairing Peli's Crēdo Vault, CrēdoGO and DV10 shippers with PAXAFE's lane planning, real-time visibility and predictive analytics platform. The pitch is one system covering the full logistics lifecycle, from physical protection in transit to alerting and compliance reporting, built on shared customers spanning some 90 countries. It's part of a broader shift toward AI-powered cold chain control towers designed to predict delays and temperature excursions before they happen, rather than simply logging them after the fact.

Lastly, Ember LifeSciences is taking its cold chain technology to Japan through the country's largest pharmaceutical wholesaler.

Ember entered a capital and business alliance with Alfresa Corporation, giving Alfresa exclusive sales rights to Ember's cold chain technology in Japan's healthcare sector while adding Alfresa as a Series A investor alongside existing partners Amgen, Cardinal Health, Carrier and Sea Court Capital. Alfresa, which posted roughly $19 billion in consolidated revenue for its fiscal year ending in March, will evaluate the Ember Cube in its Home Care Delivery service, which ships specialty drugs straight to patients. For Ember, the deal opens a foothold in one of the world's largest pharma markets without the cost of standing up its own Japanese distribution network, building on a run of momentum that includes April's commercial launch of Ember Cube 2 and a Series A expansion to $27 million in May.
